DLC – aka ULSD Rated Nozzles
Not all nozzles are created equal! Our new DLC line of nozzles come with a 5 year unlimited mileage warranty and will deliver fuel faster and with more stable flow control than any aftermarket or OEM type nozzle. What does this mean to you? Simple, we can set up your nozzles to provide maximum fuel economy or maximum performance and the option for a compromise of everything in between based on your needs.
Unlike other nozzle manufacturers Bosio doesn’t just “EDM” nozzle blanks using a generic “Hole Size”. Since the very beginning Bosio utilizes actual nozzle flow volume delivered by the nozzle to insure near identical balance nozzle to nozzle, batch to batch. Thanks to their state of the art Flow setting, Out of the box we have verified the tolerances on our Digital Flow bench. We routinely find a typical flow deviation of less than .25% where other manufacturers struggle to have variation of less than 15-20% using raw EDM’d nozzle blanks.
What this adds up to is a superior running engine, maximum fuel economy and the lowest cost per mile over the life of the nozzle set.
In addition to delivering more fuel quicker we are able to deliver more of it thanks to the tighter leakage rates and this translates into more power!
The use of the latest generation DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coatings eliminates the primary wear region of the nozzle and increases useful nozzle life by over 5 fold!
DLC coatings offer more than just increased nozzle life, the DLC coatings also eliminates the larger mechanically formed surface flaws typical of even the best machine ground surfaces. DLC coatings fills these imperfections with an atomically perfect ultra hard black diamond surface coating resulting in a perfect surface not possible with any form of mechanical machining or grinding process. This greatly reduces friction, increases needle response and improves the fuel delivery control for additional performance increases. From a production standpoint, this allows a tighter fit of the needle in the nozzle and eliminates the fuel typically lost thru the injector return lines. This previously lost pump volume increases the fuel volume available to the injector nozzle increasing pump efficiency and the injectors overall pressure response at all operating rpm’s and injection rates.
Fuel quality will always vary and It is still advisable to have the injectors cleaned and checked every 100,000 miles to remove normally occurring varnish formations or deposits leftover from various fuel additives. If during this check any nozzle is found to be out of tolerance it will be replaced with a brand new nozzle, re-balanced and returned to you at no additional chage.
All DLC nozzles are covered by our 5 year unlimited mileage warranty when using ULSD fuel and following the OEM fuel filter change intervals. Biodiesel is covered up to 20%, however due to varnish formation concentrations beyond that will not be covered. WVO/SVO in any amount will void all applicable warranties immediately.
